Community One
“It is better to give than to receive.”
Welcome to Community One, a public service division of Security One Lending Corp. based in San Diego, CA.
As our corporation continues to grow, we would like to establish early on that we not only HAVE high corporate values, but strive to run our company by those values. Community One will provide an opportunity for all Security One Lending Partners and staff to accomplish the objective of our company’s Core Values. Some corporations donate to charities and make certain that they give the maximum limit from their profits in order to receive the tax break. At Security One Lending we’d like to give more. We feel that charity is more than just giving money; it is an expenditure on which the giver expects no real return.
By partnering with various organizations throughout our community, we can play a valuable role in meeting the social needs of our community, while simultaneously strengthening our company. These events not only create opportunities for you to contribute to your community, but also allow you to get to know and establish relationships with your partners in Security One Lending. As we strive to become a successful financial based firm, it becomes essential to contribute and share our time and wealth with those less fortunate in our immediate and surrounding communities.
Special Olympics
Special Olympics is a year-round worldwide program of sports training and athletic competition for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics is unique in that it provides for competition at all levels of ability by assigning them to competition divisions based on both age and actual performance. Even athletes in the lowest divisions may advance all the way to the World Games.
The purpose of Special Olympics is to contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of persons with intellectual disabilities. Through positive successful experiences in sport, they can gain confidence and self-mastery and start to build a self-image associated with success rather than failure. Success on the playing field often has carry over value into the classroom, home, and work place.
Volunteering for Special Olympics can be a life-changing experience not just for the athletes, but for you as well. Special Olympics sports training and competition, and related programs promoting participation and inclusion, transform the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. And when volunteers come together with athletes with intellectual disabilities through Special Olympics, longstanding myths are dispelled, negative attitudes changed, and new opportunities to embrace and celebrate people with differences are created.
Special Olympics would not exist today and could not have been created without the time, energy, commitment and enthusiasm of its volunteers.
Special Olympics relies on volunteers at all levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a quality sports training and competition experience.
Volunteering for Special Olympics can create lifelong friendships and rewards of immeasurable value.
